Minted by The Franklin Mint on July 10, 1973 in a limited Proof edition to commemorate the independence of the Bahamas from the Crown on that day. Weighing 49.70 grams, the coin contains 750 grains of sterling silver. The coin is legal tender in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It measures 50mm (2 inches) in diameter, and comes in the original case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
